Discover the fascinating tales beneath the surface of this local resting place.

Join us for 'Whispers from the Past”, an intriguing journey into the hidden language of Victorian grave symbolism. We'll explore the fascinating meanings behind the monuments and markers at Riverside Cemetery, uncovering the stories and lives of the individuals interred there through the symbols they left behind.  
Jamie and Maria have been researching and guiding tours for Riverside Cemetery together since 2021. Jamie is an employee of the cemetery and Maria is the volunteer docent; both sharing the love of history and cemeteries.

About the branch

The Fairview Park Branch originally operated out of a small storefront on Lorain Road. Today, the building is large enough to support a book capacity of 147,000 volumes. The branch also features a beautiful travel-themed children’s area complete with a miniature Eiffel Tower and airplanes, and an Innovation Center maker space.
