About the presenter
Vice Admiral Joe Outlaw is the Commanding Officer of the USS Challenger, the Cleveland chapter of the IFT, a global nonprofit organization founded with the support of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. A lifelong science fiction enthusiast and retired electrical engineer, Outlaw also serves on the Federation’s Prime Council as Director of Chapter Development and is a frequent speaker on the enduring legacy of Star Trek and its real-world impact.

The Fairview Park Branch originally operated out of a small storefront on Lorain Road. Today, the building is large enough to support a book capacity of 147,000 volumes. The branch also features a beautiful travel-themed children’s area complete with a miniature Eiffel Tower and airplanes, and an Innovation Center maker space.
