The next session of this certification class starts on March 2nd, 2026 and will cover the fundamentals of starting a business including developing your idea, conducting market research, obtaining a business license, basic marketing concepts, bookkeeping, and more. There will be an exam at the end of the class that will provide you with a U.S. Entrepreneurship Certification credential (https://www.ctecs.org/usece/), which can be helpful if you are planning to seek funding for your business idea in the form of grants and/or loans.
The class schedule is as follows, with a class overview/orientation being conducted on your first night of class.
Mondays / 6-8:30 PM: Attend via Zoom or at the Parma-Powers Branch, 6996 Powers Blvd, Meeting Room D
Thursdays / 6-8:00 PM – Attend via Zoom or at the Maple Heights Branch, 5225 Library Lane, Maple Hts., Aspire Classroom
The class will run through Tuesday, May 5th.
If you are interested in attending this class, you will need to fill out the online registration form at https://studentportal.literacypro.com/oh/provider (type Cuyahoga County Public Library into search bar). An office team member will then contact you to complete the process.

The Maple Heights Branch serves as the headquarters for Aspire Greater Cleveland, a nonprofit organization that provides free comprehensive adult education services in Cleveland and throughout Cuyahoga County. Pearson Vue testing services are also offered at this location.
The Maple Heights Branch is also home to The Centers for Families and Children’s Debra Ann November Early Learning Center, the first early learning center to be located inside a public library in the State of Ohio.
This branch is a Student Success Center and a Greater Cleveland Food Bank Kids Café location.
