AARP Presentation: Our Voices Decide
Protect & Strengthen Soc. Sec. and Support Family Caregivers
Tuesday, October 06
11:00am - 12:00pm
Beachwood Branch
Beachwood Meeting Room (Auditorium) (84)In this election year, AARP is fighting to get candidates, regardless of party, to offer solutions for protecting and strengthening Social Security and supporting Family Caregivers.
Voters age 50+ are the country’s strongest voting bloc. We must raise our voices and tell candidates to offer solutions to the issues that matter to us and our families. We need to elect candidates who will listen to our struggles — and pass helpful commonsense solutions. The presentation walks through what’s at stake for Social Security—including the need for congressional action to prevent an across-the-board reduction in payments and a “myths vs. facts” review—then transitions to the scope and realities of family caregiving and closes with practical engagement pathways.

Beachwood Branch
The Beachwood Branch first opened to the public on October 31, 1982. At the time, it was the first branch in the CCPL system to have an automated circulation system. Located just a few hundred yards from the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, the branch offers a drive-up window where customers can pick up requested materials, dedicated spaces for kids and teens, and a beautiful outdoor reading garden.
