Creative Journaling Workshop with the American Diary Project
Adults
Tuesday, August 04
6:30pm - 8:00pm
Gates Mills Branch
Meeting Room (20)Every diary tells a story worth saving. Join the American Diary Project to learn how personal journals become part of our shared history.
We’ll talk about our mission, how to contribute to the collection, and share fascinating diaries from our archive. Then it’s time to create. You’ll design a unique creative journal spread using a mix of materials like stickers, washi tape, stamps, magazines, and more. Supplies are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own favorites. Free journals are available to those in need.
Kate Zirkle is the founder and executive director of the American Diary Project. She is an avid diarist and member of the Society of Ohio Archivists. She shares her home in Cleveland, Ohio, with her wife, dogs, and enough cats to earn her cat lady status.
Gates Mills Branch
The Gates Mills Branch became a part of the Cuyahoga County Public Library system in 1948. At the time, the branch operated out of the Southwick House, a former residence that was converted into a historic site. The branch’s current home is a 3,500-square-foot building that is the cornerstone of the Gates Mills downtown revitalization.
