Take your chess game to the next level. Perfect for intermediate players looking to hone their skills. 

This class will teach students to truly excel at the game of chess. Catered towards the more competent and proficient player, this program involves teaching complex chess tactics, opening theory, and advanced checkmate patterns of the game through structured, interactive lessons and practice sessions. 

Presented by National Chess Expert, Damon Rucker, has a unique background of 24 years of chess 
coaching and decades of entertainment experience with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This special combination ensures that classes are both impactful, and absolutely a blast!

About the branch

The Beachwood Branch first opened to the public on October 31, 1982. At the time, it was the first branch in the CCPL system to have an automated circulation system. Located just a few hundred yards from the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, the branch offers a drive-up window where customers can pick up requested materials, dedicated spaces for kids and teens, and a beautiful outdoor reading garden.
