DESCRIPTION

Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, Nobel Prize–winning author, is set in a near-future United States where children are genetically engineered for enhanced academic success — a process known as “lifting.” Narrated by Klara, a solar-powered Artificial Friend (AF) designed to be a child’s companion, this luminous novel examines a rapidly changing world through her observant, unforgettable voice, asking a central question: what does it truly mean to love?
