Greater Cleveland Chorus includes over 50 talented singers from all ages and walks of life. They are Cleveland's 10-time Region 17 Champions of Sweet Adelines international. Most recently, October 2025 they became the 2nd place champions of the Harmony Classic division of Sweet Adelines International competition.
Their repertoire is filled with a cappella and barbershop-style music comprised of traditional and contemporary songs. This international organization is not only dedicated to preserving the unique sound of barbershop harmony but sharing their passion for music and creating a community that supports and empowers women everywhere.
What is Sweet Adelines?
Established in 1945, Sweet Adelines International (SAI) is a worldwide organization of women singers who are committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performances. GCC is a member of Great Lakes Harmony Region 17, a part of SAI, which is comprised of 22 choruses that include 800+ singers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York and Indiana.
They sing four-part a cappella and barbershop style harmony. The music is created by blending four different voice parts - tenor, lead, baritone and Bass - to create one perfect chord.
Barbershop has come a long way from the days of four men in straw hats singing ragtime melodies.

First opened in 1969, the Middleburg Heights Branch moved into a new building in 2018, which features public meeting rooms, a special sensory friendly children’s area, quiet study rooms and a full-service drive-up window.
