Join us when South Euclid chef Deneen Wiley-Dean visits to share tastes of some of her creations and discuss her cookbook, Simplicity Never Tasted So Good.
About the author:
Deneen Wiley-Dean been speaking through food for as long as she can remember. Her journey began at just eight years old, standing on her tiptoes beside her grandmother, helping prepare holiday feasts for a big, loving family, and selling bologna sandwiches to the neighborhood kids for 25 cents apiece. By her teens, she was already cooking full dinners, guided by the flavors of her mother’s home cooking and her father’s unforgettable fried chicken.
Though Deneen had always loved cooking, she never thought of it as a way to make a living until her early 30s, when she started her own catering company, Jus Fork It. The more catering jobs she took, the more creative she became with everyday food, transforming familiar dishes into unforgettable experiences. Her book editor eventually convinced her to write a cookbook because, as they said, everyone loves your food.
Known today for her mouthwatering baked goods and “stick-to-your-bones” comfort food, Deneen cooks with more than skill; she cooks with heart. Every dish she creates carries a story, a memory, and a piece of her soul. She believes food can do more than feed you; it can spark conversation, create connection, and wrap you in love.
